Overview

Yummiee’s Cafe is a true gem nestled in the heart of South Philadelphia, offering an authentic taste of Cambodian cuisine that feels both genuine and approachable. Located conveniently at 1801 S 6th St, this restaurant delivers a dining experience that marries traditional flavors with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The unpretentious and cozy space makes it ideal for both locals craving Khmer home-style dishes and adventurous food lovers eager to explore Cambodia’s rich culinary heritage.

The menu is thoughtfully curated with standout dishes such as the BBQ Beef and Chicken Skewers—grilled to perfection, smoky, and deeply satisfying. Lort Cha makes a hearty appearance, showcasing stir-fried flat rice noodles imbued with savory, umami-packed notes. Another highlight is the 3 Chicken Sticks with Rice, a simple yet classic offering that exemplifies the comfort of Cambodian street food. For those inclined to explore complex flavors, the Rib Eye Steak served with Tuk Pahok—a spicy, fermented fish sauce—is a must-try. It strikes a fine balance between hearty and fiery, encapsulating the boldness that characterizes many Cambodian main dishes.

Beverage options elevate the meal with creative takes on iced coffee, including unique blends like Butterfly Coconut Milk Tea and specialty iced coffees infused with ube, matcha, pandan, or even crème brûlée flavors. These drinks complement the food perfectly, adding a layer of smooth sweetness and refreshment that rounds out the bold spices and textures of the main courses.

The experience at Yummiee’s Cafe extends beyond the food and drinks. Customers consistently praise the genuine hospitality and personalized service, often mentioning the friendly owner who offers helpful recommendations. This attentive, family-like service contributes to the relaxed and intimate vibe, setting it apart as a community-focused spot rather than just a restaurant. The ambiance is unassuming but charming, making it an inviting place to savor Cambodian flavors without the fuss.

Yummiee’s Cafe is clearly designed for anyone who values authentic ethnic cuisine prepared with care. Whether you are a Cambodian expatriate seeking a nostalgic meal or a culinary explorer eager to dive into Khmer dishes, this cafe welcomes all with open arms and a flavorful menu that honors tradition. For those in Philadelphia or passing through, it stands out as a must-visit destination that champions small business spirit and culinary authenticity in every bite.

Looking for Authentic Cambodian cuisine? This is it! A fair sized homemade Cambodian kitchen that is amazing, authentic, flavorful- like I went back 15 years in the past! The staff is very kind, wait time was reasonable. This is a staple Asian cuisine spot to check out in south Philly! I ordered the Loklak and steak prahok platters and for around $40 it was well worth the money! Fire!!! (╹◡╹) spice level and flavors are spectacular ~ don’t forget to tip and support small businesses! I will be back!!! ***dips are on point too!

We stopped by when we were in town, and we were IMPRESSED!!! The foods are excellent, truly home-cook taste. If you’re into the authentic Khmer foods, this spot is legit. We finished the foods so quick so we didn’t take any picture. Will definitely come back, only 2 hours away

Exceptionally delicious and reasonably priced Cambodian food. We order papaya salad (combo with chicken and beef sticks), salaw machew kroeung (beef soup), steak with tuk pahok, and pahok katieh (ground pork with coconut milk, to dip with veggies). They are all tasty (and cost only $56 total). Great customer service. 10/10. Khmer Kitchen was my favorite Cambodian restaurant for 3-4 years until it was closed recently. Now Khmer Sweet Basil is my new favorite place in Philly. We ordered the same dishes we used to order at Khmer Kitchen to see which place is better. The taste here is slightly different, but it's as great as at Khmer Kitchen. Even if Khmer Kitchen was still open, I would alternate between two restaurants.

We traveled all the way from Virginia. Absolutely delicious Cambodian food. We tried the fried fish, beef sticks, papaya salad, and raw beef salad. All hit the spot. Service was great and very welcoming owners. Best Cambodian home style food in Philadelphia. Kids were mad we didn’t go back to eat here during our weekend stay.
